My name is Fawn Montanye, I’m a NYS Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, a CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and Ethics and Boundaries facilitator, and hold a host of certifications in multiple areas, in keeping to my commitment of ensuring peers hold all levels of positions, from volunteers and front line staff, to administration and executive roles, within the organizations we serve - in fidelity to those we serve.

In July 2021, I stepped down as Executive Director of the Vermont Recovery Network.  Our organization supported the 12, independent 501c3 peer-based recovery centers in Vermont, managed the statewide database, oversaw state and SAMHSA grants, provided technical assistance and a host of supports to elevate awareness, increase visibility and aid in development and funding. Currently, I am the ED for Vermont Roots & Wings Alliance - very much a Friends of Treatment Court model and the Substance Use Program Manager overseeing the Community Action Grant, Opioid Response Team and Outreach for Overdose Projects in Bennington Vermont through Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

I’m also a single mother, in recovery, maintaining an abstinence-based, fellowship driven path of recovery for over 5 years.  With my 2 children, 18 and 15, we reside in Dorset, Vermont with our 2 french bulldogs.  Together we all live the mantra - Aspire - Believe - Achieve and stand firm in our position that ‘Lived Recovery is Prevention in Action’

Prior to my recovery, my career began as an executive assistant serving a residential treatment center for adolescent girls and the northeast areas juvenile sexual offender treatment program.  I grew, professionally, and attained a position in a Fortune 500 biopharmaceutical manufacturing company, where core values and universal learning were drilled into us and we thrived on those bonds! My hope is to see peer based recovery organizations share the same successes, and be able to attain and sustain the tools and talent needed to make that success a reality.
