We are thrilled to welcome University of Vermont senior, Ren, to the Working Fields team as our intern for the 2024-25 academic year! Based out of our South Burlington office, Ren plays a vital role as a first point of contact over the phone for many jobseekers across the Northeast, helping us build bridges to meaningful employment opportunities. Ren is also assisting with jobseeker surveys, guiding jobseekers with resume-building, and helping run community job fair events. Ren’s presence in these roles supports our mission of inclusive hiring and brings a fresh perspective informed by their social work studies at the University of Vermont.

Since joining two months ago, Ren has been moved by the resilience and drive of the jobseekers they've connected with. Reflecting on their experience so far, Ren shares, “It amazes me how despite so many barriers, people are so motivated to get to work.” 

Looking ahead, Ren expresses that connection is at the core of what they’re most looking forward to in their internship.  “Each connection that I make is so exciting and I’m really excited to meet more people.”
