We’re thrilled to expand our work to the great state of Maine and feel so welcomed by the Lewiston-Auburn community.

"Working Fields’ history of serving employers in need of a qualified workforce while simultaneously providing workforce counseling and peer support to residents has proven highly impactful in other states. They will be a welcome addition to the Auburn business community." - Glen E. Holmes, Director of Business & Community Development, City of Auburn,

Joining us in Auburn with 17 years of experience in business management is our first Maine-based Account Manager, Jenna Andrews. Jenna shares that she is excited to "finally use my life experience, strong work ethic and passion for all things humanity." Jenna has hit the ground running already attending two local job fairs and meeting with jobseekers at our new office. You can learn more about Jenna and reach out personally to welcome her from our staff page here.

Factors Affecting Comfort in Disclosing Alcohol & Other Drug Histories

Substance use disorder (SUD) is one of the most stigmatized health conditions. Individuals with SUDs are subject to harsh moral judgment and frequent discrimination. These effects can prevent people who are seeking treatment or those in recovery from accessing the necessary care and support to achieve or sustain recovery.”

At Working Fields, we aim to create a stigma-free environment and foster a culture of honesty so folks are able to show up as themselves and get the support they need. If you want to learn more about what factors affect substance use disclosure, check out this article from the Addiction Policy Forum.
